CEO and CFO in Arizona
Peripatetic mentor, force multiplier, CEO, CFO, and Board Member with over twenty-six years of experience building and leading high-growth, venture-backed companies operating in Cleantech, Clean Energy, Biotech, MedTech, and SaaS.
I am currently the CFO In Residence at Mach49, a global venture builder for the G-2000, where I provide strategic and tactical finance expertise and strategy consulting to multiple new ventures incubated at international clients, including Xerox PARC, Gundersen Health, Goodyear, Hines, Anglo-American Mining, Tonomus, TDK, and others.
Previously I was the Founder, President, and CEO of Trelar Logistics Inc., a SaaS company focused on vocational trucking logistics, where we commercialized a marketplace and distributed workflow application, leading to Trelar’s acquisition by HaulHub in March 2020.
Following the Hy9 exit, I formed Helio Logix to provide interim CFO and COO services to clients in IoT, Energy, Genomics, and SaaS, helping raise over $65M in equity and debt.
Before Helio Logix, I was President and CEO of Hy9 Corporation (Strategic Exit, 2015), where we patented and commercialized the first pure-hydrogen liquid fuel processor for PEM fuel cells, focusing on the remote telecom power market.
Before joining Hy9, I enjoyed working with Dr. Stephen Wolfram to launch the world’s first computational knowledge engine, Wolfram|Alpha, winning several awards.
Before working on Wolfram|Alpha, I led business development for Amazon Kindle periodicals during launch, growing to a $1B ARR line of business by closing over 90 publisher agreements and increasing the title library by 700%.
Early in my career, I served as an executive in engineering, sales, and operations with notable companies, including SPRY, Netscape Communication, Vignette, and USinternetworking, achieving over $5B in exits, $300M in equity raises, the first SaaS IPO, and generating over $3B in aggregate revenues.
Before moving into tech, I was a commercial pilot and served honorably in Army Special Operations for nine years. I earned a PMD from Harvard Business School, a BS in Sociology from the College of Charleston, and hold a multi-engine, instrument, commercial pilot rating.
In 2020 we left Austin to support my fiancee's job as a scientist and moved to the desert southwest, where we rescue Boxer dogs, grow citrus and snuff angry rattlesnakes.
